Senior Software Engineer, Desknet Inc., Portland, Maine, January 2005 -  
    present. Development of high-end automated dynamic publishing software
    solutions for QuarkXPress.


President, Dirigo Multimedia, Inc., South Portland, Maine, September 1995 - 
    present. Freelance consulting in interactive design and multimedia pro-
    gramming, specializing in Xtras in C and C++ for Macromedia Director for
    Macintosh and Windows; published commercial Xtra products and utilities
    for multimedia CD-ROM authoring. Incorporated in July 2002; previously
    operated as a sole proprietorship.
	

Lead programmer, Systems and Programming Consultants, Nashville, Tennessee, 
    October 1994 - August 1995.  Project leader for Applied Learning 
    Technologies' Little Planet Literacy series, a cross-platform multimedia 
    early childhood literacy product using Macromedia Director. Lingo and 
    XObject coding for text entry, sound recording, music selection, external 
    application for picture creation, customizable pronounceable dictionary 
    database, storyboard sequencing, file input/output for asset import and 
    student progress tracking. Coordinated programming team, worked closely 
    with design team.

Multimedia software developer, Formal Systems, Princeton, New Jersey, March 
    1993 - September 1994. Designed, programmed and illustrated computer-based 
    training software, primarily in topics of anatomy and physiology for the 
    pharmaceutical industry. Wrote user interface, presentation and animation 
    code in C, Multimedia GRASP, and 80x86 Assembler. Wrote technical refer-
    ence manuals for software products I developed and company newsletter ar-
    ticles on technical topics of general interest to CBT clients.

Adjunct professor of visual arts, Mercer County Community College, West 
    Windsor, New Jersey. Taught "Computer Art: 3D," emphasizing 3D modeling, 
    materials, lighting and animation using Autodesk 3D Studio.

Systems integrator and technician, freelance, January 1990 - August 1994. 
    Designed and built high-performance video graphics workstations, both 
    desktop and portable, typically with Truevision professional video graph-
    ics adapters, for video graphic design and animation.

Computer programmer, freelance, September 1985 - present. Extensive program-
    ming experience on Mac and PC architecture for multimedia plug-ins,
    image processing, testing and assessment, file conversion, device and 
    motion control, application specific macro languages and printer drivers. 

Multimedia services manager, Visioneering Graphics, Lowell, Massachusetts, 
    July - December 1992. Designed and produced multimedia computer graphics 
    presentations for clients such as Digital, Hewlett-Packard and AT&T.

Video graphic design and animation, freelance, December 1989 - present. 
    Designed 2D and 3D animations and illustrations for videotape for compa-
    nies such as Amoco and National Semiconductor. Wrote custom computer 
    graphics image processing and animation software for special effects.

Visiting artist, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Summer 1990. Taught 
    2D design course, "Art and Technology: Experimental Computer Imaging."

Online video editor, Candee Productions, Chicago, Illinois, December 1988 - 
    January 1990. Operated and maintained online interformat video edit suite 
    including Betacam, 1" and 3/4" videotape.

Video production, freelance, September 1981 - present. All aspects of video 
    production: camera, lighting, editing, audio, graphics, script writing, 
    producing.



INTERESTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New technology artworks. Traditional and digital stop-motion video and 16mm
    film animation, computer-controlled environments, computer-conceived or
    computer-executed sculpture in fused glass and other media, short 
    narrative films and comedy sketches produced in digital video. Pieces
    broadcast on WTTW-TV's Image Union in Chicago, exhibited in Montreal
    at Images du Futur by La Cite des Arts et des Nouvelles Technologies de 
    Montreal, and shown in several Maine independent film and video festivals.

Mountaineering. Occasional but enthusiastic mountain climber. Maintained 
    trails and wildlife habitats in the White Mountains. Instructed inner-city 
    youth in rappelling and rock-climbing at outdoor adventure camp.

Book publishing. Preparing manuscripts on spiritual topics, including a new
    translation and commentary on Lao Tsu's Tao Teh Ching by Herrymon Maurer,
    for online and print publication.

Bluegrass banjo picker, contra dancer, dog owner.
